Ariana Candaras, Naturopath

I am a Naturopathic Doctor with a clinical focus on the gut, mood and skin connection.
While this is bulk of my practice, I also have experience in treating hormonal concerns, peri-menopause, Maternal Wellness (conception, pregnancy and beyond), pediatrics and metabolic health.
My true passion is to be the first step, or aide, to helping each person connect with their most natural selves; eliminating or mitigating the obstacles of every day life. I provide anyone seeking treatment actionable steps in a plan which can lead to long-term success and resolution. It is crucial for patients to leave treatment knowing they have made lasting improvements and have gained wisdom that can be drawn upon for any new challenge in life, returning them back into alignment with nature - a healthy, thriving, human being.
I am a naturopath and mother of two. I believe strongly in naturopathic principles and apply them to my daily life, and espouse them to my family, friends and community.
Why I Chose Naturopathy:
I chose Naturopathy because it is in alignment with my lifestyle and philosophy for living.
Naturopathy at it's core, is simply living a life in alignment with nature, a sentiment which I strive to achieve every day. That is; to eat food humans are meant to eat, sleep how and when we're meant to sleep, be in the sun, get fresh air, live a (relatively!) low-stress life, reduce toxic exposure (ask me), use your body and bask in what nature has to offer.
What I wish for my patients is to regain balance and live as simply as possible.
Outside of practice, you may find me walking around the city with my husband and young sons, at the yoga studio or fabric shops. I am a nature enthusiast, lover of kitchen medicine, DIYer and budding gardener, growing fruits, veggies and herbs. I am currently working towards a low-waste/zero-waste lifestyle.
I have a degree in Biological Science from the University of Guelph. Then I completed a four-year specialized program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, receiving my Doctor of Naturopathy degree.
During my naturopathic studies, I gained in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, herbal medicine, nutrition and dietary therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and homeopathy.
I have since continued my education with special attention to sustainable living, natural pregnancy, unmedicalized birth, the mind-body connection, gut health and pediatrics.
I practice in-person care in Hamilton and Dundas, and practice virtually all over Ontario.
